VOLUNTEER POSITIONS @ HAPA-PALOOZA 2011

Poster Distribution

• Assist (pre-festival) with ensuring posters and information are in prominent, well trafficked public spaces across Vancouver.

• Attending some public events prior to the festival to gather more volunteers for the show ahead!

Promoters

• Help us promote our festival through social media, performer networks and digital invites.

Set-Up

• Assist with set up of applicable venue – tables, chairs and some staging. Information booth and merchandise set up.

• Some lifting may be required for this position.

Ushers / Surveys

• Be a general welcoming smiling face and help patrons to seats, engage patrons in feedback surveys during show intervals or at end of show.

Door 

• Manage “Will Call” listings for pre-purchased tickets and guest lists.

• Cash handling experience is essential.

Merchandise / Information

• Provide patrons with information about the Festival, manage merchandise sales and/or collection.

• Cash handling experience is essential.

Donations

• Collect donations from patrons attending free shows.

Raffle Tickets

• Selling raffle tickets to attending patrons, providing them with information on prizes and draw information.

Photography / Videography

• If you’re a budding film maker or photographer in the making we would love to have you on the team.  It’s crucial that we can document the wonderful performances throughout the event. The Festival is unable to offer compensation for this, however you would receive full credit for any images used by Hapa-Palooza and inclusion in the Festival program.

Photo Booth

• Collect consent forms/signatures from participants wishing to join in photo booth activities. Set time during “Hapa-palooza in the Square” only (ie 3-5pm    Finale Show)

Green Room

• Check in performer ‘gear’ and ensure kept in a safe environment, assist in providing nourishment to performers and other volunteers.

Stagehand

• Assist production team with set up of staging and equipment required for the days’ show. Some lifting is required for this role.

• Knowledge of sound equipment or staging equipment an asset.

Kid Zone

• Set time during “Hapa-palooza in the Square” only (ie 3-5pm Finale Show)

Tear Down

• Assist with removing tables, chairs, packing up and loading of any equipment required.

• Some lifting will be required for this position.
